Learning to Lead for female youth at UBC
Minerva is once again offering the highly successful Learning to Lead™ program for 50 BC grade 11 girls on May 25th – 27th, 2018 at St. John’s College on the UBC campus. I am writing to invite you to put forward a nomination (or nominations) for this cost-free leadership weekend.
We invite all high schools in BC to nominate grade 11 girls. Indigenous young women are encouraged to apply.
Minerva is looking for applicants with strong leadership potential and a desire to create a better world. We want to reach those students who may not usually have access to this type of unique programming. Please also consider the more quiet leaders in your community—girls who have big ideas, but have not yet found their voice.
Throughout this interactive weekend, the young women will participate in workshops on values-based leadership, assessing their strengths, power of mentorship and networks, and how to build inclusive communities. These workshops will guide each participant as they explore their own leadership style and potential.
Please see the attached nomination package for further details on this year’s program. Please share the following link with the students you wish to nominate: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/L2L17. In addition to an expression of interest, they will be asked to upload a letter of support from their nominating sponsor.
Nominations are due by 4 PM on March 21st, 2018. Please contact me at this email or 604-683-7635 ext. 221 for any questions regarding the Learning to Lead™ program.
